ITALIAN TIRAMISU RECIPES

Tiramisu is a classic Italian dessert that's loved worldwide. It's made with layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and a creamy mascarpone cheese mixture. Here's a traditional Tiramisu recipe for you:

Ingredients:

  • 6 large egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 3 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 1 package (about 7 ounces) ladyfingers
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting
  • Dark chocolate shavings or cocoa powder (for garnish)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Brew strong coffee and let it cool to room temperature. You can add coffee liqueur to it if you like.

  2. In a heatproof bowl, combine the egg yolks and sugar. Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler) and whisk continuously until the mixture becomes pale and thick. This should take about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool.

  3. In a separate bowl, mix the mascarpone cheese until it's smooth and creamy.

  4. In a different bowl, whip the heavy cream until it forms stiff peaks.

  5. Gently fold the mascarpone cheese into the egg yolk mixture until well combined.

  6. Then, fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until everything is evenly mixed. Be gentle to maintain the light, airy texture.

  7. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the brewed coffee (with or without liqueur) and layer them in the bottom of your serving dish.

  8. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.

  9. Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers on top of the mascarpone layer.

  10. Top with the remaining mascarpone mixture.

  11. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. This allows the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.

  12. Before serving, dust the top with unsweetened cocoa powder and garnish with dark chocolate shavings or more cocoa powder.

  13. Serve chilled and enjoy your homemade Tiramisu!

Remember, Tiramisu can also be made in individual serving glasses or cups for a fancier presentation. Just portion out the ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture accordingly. Buon appetito!
