Crispy Cheddar Chicken- Baked

Crispy Cheddar Chicken is a delicious dish that combines the flavors of crispy chicken and melted cheddar cheese. This recipe is typically baked, which makes it a healthier alternative to fried chicken. Here's a basic recipe to get you started:

Ingredients:

For the chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the sauce:

  • 1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking dish and set it aside.

  2. In a shallow bowl, combine the flour with a bit of salt and pepper. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and 1/4 cup of milk. In a third bowl, mix the shredded cheddar cheese and breadcrumbs.

  3. Dip each chicken breast into the flour, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat it with the cheese and breadcrumb mixture. Press the breadcrumbs onto the chicken to make sure they adhere.

  4. Place the coated chicken breasts into the prepared baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the coating is golden brown and crispy.

  5. While the chicken is baking, you can prepare the sauce. In a saucepan, combine the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, butter, and 1/2 cup of milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the sauce is well combined and heated through.

  6. Once the chicken is done, remove it from the oven. Pour the sauce over the cooked chicken.

  7. Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbly and the chicken is thoroughly cooked.

  8. Serve your Crispy Cheddar Chicken with your choice of side dishes, such as mashed potatoes, vegetables, or a salad.

Enjoy your homemade Crispy Cheddar Chicken! You can customize the seasonings and cheese to suit your taste, making it a versatile and crowd-pleasing meal.
