Grilled beef ribs Recipe
Grilled beef ribs are a delicious and flavorful dish, perfect for a barbecue or outdoor gathering. Here's a simple recipe to make mouthwatering grilled beef ribs:
Ingredients:
- 4-5 pounds of beef ribs (baby back ribs or spare ribs)
- 1/4 cup of your favorite barbecue rub or seasoning
- 1 cup of barbecue sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper
Instructions:
Prepare the Ribs:
- Start by prepping the beef ribs. If using spare ribs, remove the membrane from the bone side for better flavor penetration.
- Rinse the ribs and pat them dry with paper towels.
Season the Ribs:
- Drizzle a little olive oil over the ribs, then season them generously with the barbecue rub or your preferred seasoning. Make sure to coat both sides of the ribs, massaging the rub into the meat for better flavor.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper as needed.
Preheat the Grill:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around 300-325°F or 150-163°C). If you're using a charcoal grill, set up a two-zone fire by placing coals on one side and leaving the other side without coals.
Grill the Ribs:
- Place the ribs on the grill grates, bone side down. If using a two-zone fire, place them over the side with no direct heat (indirect cooking). Close the grill lid.
Cook Low and Slow:
- Grill the ribs for 2.5 to 3 hours. Maintain a consistent temperature, adjusting the vents on a charcoal grill or the burner settings on a gas grill as needed to keep the heat steady.
- Turn the ribs every 30 minutes to ensure even cooking.
Optional: Baste with Barbecue Sauce:
- During the last 30 minutes of cooking, start basting the ribs with barbecue sauce. Apply a generous amount of sauce on both sides of the ribs and continue cooking. Repeat the basting process a couple of times, allowing the sauce to caramelize and create a flavorful glaze.
Check for Doneness:
- The ribs are done when the meat starts to pull away from the bones, and they are tender. You can also use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature, which should be around 190-203°F (88-95°C).
Rest and Serve:
- Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute and makes for more tender meat.
- Cut the ribs between the bones and serve them with your favorite side dishes.
Enjoy your delicious grilled beef ribs with friends and family. They're perfect for summertime gatherings and barbecues.
